Audio vs. Video.. and Why I Don’t Care

The smartest bets in media aren’t choosing sides — they’re building scalable IP (and value) across all formats.

Hey there,

I’ve given in.

After a lot of push from friends and colleagues (especially Brady Sadler and Chris Erwin - who each have great newsletters, as well), I’ve decided to start writing more often. I’ll be sharing quick thoughts on a weekly-ish basis, focused on what’s happening across podcasting and investing.

This won’t be a recap of the news. It’s more about what I find interesting, what people are talking about behind the scenes, and where things are going. And if nothing is worth writing about, I won’t send an email… all Killer. No Filler.

If someone forwarded this to you, you can sign up here to join ≈ 1,000 investors and decision-makers in the podcast and media space.

If you’d rather just receive quarterly updates, just reply, and I’ll create a separate list.

To all of you heading to Cannes, enjoy a glass of rosé for me. And let me know if the radio companies spend more time talking about podcasts than, well, radio.

Audio vs. Video.. And Why I Don’t Care

The “audio vs. video” debate in podcasting has gotten so intense that we may need to call in the National Guard. I'm asked about it constantly, especially by investors trying to figure out where this whole thing is headed.

What’s more important? Audio or video? What’s the future?

My answer: I don’t really care.
